Rose came to Bridge of Hope Harrisburg with her three-year-old son. She was looking for stable, long-term housing in a safe area where she could build a future for herself and her son. She was seeking a supportive community after feeling isolated and overwhelmed managing everything on her own while working through personal issues and healing from past setbacks. Her son also needed developmental evaluation and access to early intervention, so she was seeking guidance and parental advice.
Her goal is to increase her income in a tech related or support based role to become debt free, rebuild her credit and eventually purchase a home for stability and growth. She also wants to enroll her son in a supportive preschool so he can thrive developmentally, socially, and emotionally because his growth and happiness are her top priority.
When asked what home means to her she said, “Peace, safety, and a place where love, growth, and healing happens. It’s where my son and I feel rooted and free to be ourselves.” When asked to describe her family in one word she said, “Resilience” and what’s your family’s greatest strength she said, “Determined”.
When asked what inspires you, she said, “The women in my support group at Bridge of Hope Harrisburg inspire me. “ The state I grew up in had a saying “You show me seven I show you eight which means fall down seven times get up eight.” I want to show my son resilience and determination every day!
