What does “home” mean to you?

Home is where you feel the safest. It makes your heart jump just being in your own coziness. Where memories are made, holidays are celebrated, milestones reached, and where the best meals are made with the people you love.

Who or what inspires you?

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10

What was your life like before Bridge of Hope Harrisburg Area?

Last summer I was homeless with my friend, and between us we had 3 kids! I ended up moving with my dad which was good for the time being, but it was just us trying to keep up with all the bills of the house and our personal life, which led to an eviction and no resources were working for us. I had no help, no backup plan, no “village” to at least take my son in until I had a hotel plan or something. I turned to 211 which led me to Bridge of Hope.

Where do you want to see yourself and your family in the next one to two years?

I would like to be at a steady good paying job while taking classes in philosophy. The thought of having no degree or diploma never sat ok with me so that’s a major thing I would like to work on. By the next two years, my baby will be 5 and I would like to see him happy, healthy and in kindergarten and loving being in school. I imagine and hope in the next 1-2 years my relationships with everyone will be closer, tighter, and stronger. I hope to have a romantic relationship when the time is right and be working on just maintaining life. All around, I hope and pray for stability and a stronger mindset. I hope to be healing my mind and soul and finally work on ME.

What is your family’s greatest strength?

Devoted.

How would you describe your family’s personality?

Bubbly.
