Marley & Her Children
What Does “Home” Mean To You?
Family. Love. Appreciation. “Everyday Thanksgiving.” I don’t expect anything or ask anything of anyone. Home to me is when we are just happy to be together, appreciating each other, and spending time together.
Who Or What Inspires You?
I am inspired when I think of life like this: “What was, is what is, and what shall be. Whatever happened is what happened, whatever is is what was in the plan, and whatever is about to happen is what God already planned for us.”
What Was Your Life Like Before Bridge Of Hope Harrisburg Area?
I am a Medical Assistant with over 10 years of experience in the field and I particularly prefer pediatrics. I am prized for my work with pediatric patients and have been an invaluable asset to the teams that I have worked with. However, life experiences have made it difficult to maintain employment. I have a need for childcare in order to work but cannot get assistance with childcare until I am working. Right now I do not have transportation to and from work and the public transportation system where I live is not reliable. My immediate family is struggling with significant health issues, so I do not have the support systems in place to get me through this rough time in my life.
Where Do You Want To See Yourself And Family In The Next One To Two Years?
I am enrolled at HACC currently and then plan to finish my BA at Penn State for a BA in Human Development and Children Services to become a Child Life Specialist. I want to be able to sustain what I have been able to provide for my children so far. It would be so nice to have a home with a yard, a garden, and a safer/better school. I would like to have Neighboring Volunteers that will be a good match for my family. They can become our long lasting forever village. I would like to know that we have found our village.

In One Word Describe Your Family’s Personality?
